Our IWRM demonstration project in São Tomé and Príncipe is based in the Rio Provaz basin, in the north-west of the island of São Tomé. The basin covers a surface area of some 1,128.5 ha. It provides water for the city of Neves, the capital of Lembá district. The demonstration project seeks to establish an Integrated River Basin Management Plan for the Rio Provaz Basin to enable equitable water resources allocation and protection, contributing to sustainable economic development, public health and environmental protection.
