Nairobi, Kenya – A series of videos documenting the progress made in promoting integrated approaches to water management in 6 Small Island Developing States was launched last week. The videos were produced by the regional project coordination unit of the IWRM AIO SIDS Project in partnership with the national authorities of the project beneficiary countries: Cabo Verde, Comoros, Mauritius, Maldives, Sao Tome and Principe and Seychelles. The aim of the series is to document project activities as well as to inspire the public and key actors from the water sector to take action together to protect their precious and vulnerable water resources.
During two months, two videographers from Beyond Borders Media travelled to 6 countries to meet with the national project teams and project beneficiaries, as well as with the designated national authorities in charge of the project.
Six of the height videos concentrate exclusively the work done under the demonstration projects implemented at local level in the six islands to illustrate the benefits of Integrated Water Resources Management approaches. The two other videos are highlighting the water challenges faced by Small Islands Developing States and the need to work together to find new innovative mechanisms to solve these issues.
All the videos are available in French, English and Portuguese and are available on the media page of our website.
