Pilot Project Managers from Six Islands Meet in Kenya to Share Experiences

Naivasha, Kenya – A communication and information sharing workshop was organised in June 2015 in Kenya, under the framework of the first component of the project “Demonstration of IWRM based on demonstration projects”. It gathered representatives from the UNEP, UNOPS and UNDP, the national focal points for the project and project managers from the participating countries.

It gave the meeting participants the opportunity to meet and exchange experiences with people who have worked on similar projects in other regions of the world (Caribbean) thereby promoting “South-South Cooperation” between small islands.

The workshop aimed to train the meeting participants to the fundamentals of communications. They learned how to improve their writing and photography skills amongst other things. One of the meeting main outcome was the identification of the challenges that had been hindering the project implementation, and the subsequent elaboration of mitigation measures.
